I am always looking for Easy Christmas crafts for the classroom! It is one of the things I look forward to each year. In school or at home with your own children, it is a special time to gather together and make some memories.
One thing you can do is create a Ornament crafting station. You can gather most of the materials at the dollar tree and Walmart!
Here are a few things I put out in mine each year.
- Pom Poms (red, green, blue, white with or without sparkles)
- shredded paper (Christmas colors)
- Clear plastic ornaments
I use the tray from the dollar tree and put all the goodies inside it. One thing I found this year was cookie sprinkles that are holiday themed. You can find some really cute ones around Christmas. The ones I found had all kinds of goodies in them. The kids had so much fun with these!
The kids take turns going through the station and fill up one clear ornament. You could even make a set of educational ones by hiding sight words or numbers inside the ornament along with the shredded paper. The possibilities are endless!
I am also all about the sentimental side of things around Christmas so the year my granddaughter was born we made one by taking special ribbon and measuring it to her length. We attached a cute poem on one side and her photo on the other. It made for a wonderful gift for my son and his wife.
My goal is to make one for her each year and as she gets older she can help make it extra special by picking out the ribbon and stickers.
Here is the copy of the poem you can use with your kids! I hope that you make some awesome memories with your kids this year and I hope some of these ideas were helpful!
